Un flip incroyable sur un quad !
Unintentional back-flip off the back of a quad bike !
highlights: I helped moved the duckies from the field to the feeding room; I prepared the cans for labeling; I went for a bit of a wander around the property to make the most of the amazing weather; Read my book sitting on the edge of a well; Played Pétanque in the sun with beers; Planned to go to the sauna but it all went south when I fell off the back of the quad bike as we accelerated suddenly.

J’ai aidé déplacer les canards du champ à la salle de gavage. Il y avait des caisses, dans lesquelles on a mis les canards pour les déplacer plus facilement. La caisse jaune a une capacité de neuf canards, la caisse rouge a une capacité de six canards. Chaque étable accueille quinze canards.
I helped to move the ducks from the field to the feeding room. There were plastic cases into which we placed the ducks to move them much easier. The yellow case holds nine ducks, while the red one holds six. Each stable in the feeding room accommodates fifteen ducks.
Avec trois hommes, moi, Francis et Pierrot, on a fini le travail très vite. Ma prochaine tâche c’était de nettoyer toutes les boites qu’on a fermé hier. Il fallait utiliser l’eau chaude pour que la graisse puisse fondre à l’extérieur de la boite.
With us three guys, Francis, Pierrot and I, we finished the work quite quickly. My next task was to clean all the cans we prepared the day before. We had to use hot water to make it easier to clean the fat on the outside of the cans.
J’était seul dans la cuisine, donc j’ai pu écouter à la musique et également chanter. Ça se passait vite, j’ai fini nettoyer toutes les boites et il me reste beaucoup de temps de faire une balade dans l’après-midi.
I was alone in the kitchen, so I could turn up my music loud and sing along. The time went quickly, I finished cleaning the cans and there was enough time for me to go for a walk in the afternoon.
Il faisait beau, il y avait beaucoup de soleil et de chaleur. J’ai fait une balade avec la chienne. Elle était une très agréable compagnon. Je suis retourné à la source, et j’ai lu mon livre sous le soleil. C’était trop bien.
The weather was really nice, lots of sun and warmth. I went for a walk with the dog. She was a very friendly companion. I went back to the well and read my book under the sun for a while. It was so nice.
Fabien m’a appris de jouer La Pétanque. C’était trop bien de jouer avec des bières sous le soleil, super chouette !

On a eu envie d’aller au sauna, mais il fallait qu’on fasse le feu au moins 30 minutes en avance. Donc, on est partis sur le quad. Elka n’était pas trop contente qu’on parte comme ça, elle a beaucoup abboyé aux pneus. Elle était complètement folle, elle nous a suivi et ne nous a pas permis de partir sur le quad. Fabien a eu l’occasion d’appuyer sur le champignon – je n’ai pas assez tenu et j’ai fait un flip du quad, c’était un truc de fou ! Je me suis blessé un peu, mais rien de grave, heureusement.
We wanted to go to the sauna, but needed to prepare the fire at least 30 minutes beforehand. So we left with the quad. Elka wasn’t happy that we took the quad bike, she kept barking at the tyres and wouldn’t let us leave. It was so crazy, she followed us and kept getting in the way. Fabien had a small window of opportunity to step on the gas – I wasn’t holding on tight enough and I back-flipped off the back of the quad, it was insane ! I grazed my left knee, but luckily it was nothing serious.
