Live Your Passion, Bootstrap Your Startup In Bangkok

Once in a while you stumble upon a gem of a hostel, one that provides you with all the necessary comforts of ‘home’ and enriches your daily life with an unparalleled positivity. A place where the staff are your friends and everyday is a happy day lived.

I found such a gem, an oasis in the concrete jungle of Bangkok.

Tucked in and amongst the hustle and bustle of the city lies a boutique-style hostel with a twist. Oneday | Pause & Forward, is conveniently located in Sukhumvit, within walking distance to the Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station.

Here you’ll enjoy modern facilities, with twin bunk privates up to an eight bed dorm; or those seeking privacy can be lodged in single suites. Here’s the eight bed dorm, which in my opinion is the best room.

Want to feel like a rockstar? Just step up to the washroom sink!

The private suites are equally well-appointed, its so boutique and lush, it feels strange to call this place a hostel.

The common bathrooms are divided by gender and are well-equipped with western toilets, cubicle showers with adjustable hot water and even screened changing booths (armed with hair dryers!). Yes this is all true and wonderful.

Want to feel like a rockstar? Just step up to the washroom sink, which is lined with bright bulb lights – much like you would see at a celebrity’s green room.

So what’s this about feeling at home? Hold onto your chair, you might get a little excited for this. There is a theatre room, set up with lounges, bean bags, and a large screen television. A DVD player, blue ray player are hooked up and an assortment of movies are at your disposal, 24 hours a day. Saturday nights are ‘Movie night’ starting from 10PM.

In the kitchen, breakfast is served daily from 7am – 10:30am. There is a microwave, fridge and hot stove.

Ok, let’s talk about the decor. Amazingly designed. Whoever the interior designer was, didn’t waste a cent, everything fits perfectly throughout all areas. The perfect balance of nature and industrial themes create a very positive atmosphere and are so conducive to creativity.

Oh, did I mention? There’s a co-working space attached to the hostel. In fact, the concept behind the name suggests it. Pause, for resting and recovery; Forward, for getting on with the job.

I spent a lot of time in the co-working space, it became my office, my creative hub, my thinking space. Productivity levels shot up through the roof as soon as I started working on my website.

Again the interior design is so conducive to productivity and creativity it is really quite inspirational.

Think about how you can bootstrap your startup here. Pause and Forward.

The monthly rate for the amazing dormitory accomodation is 12,000 Baht (approx. US$350). If you’re gonna use the co-working space, then there’s a package deal for that too, just ask them.

    Looks gorgeous!
So much nicer then some of the crappy hostels I stayed in Europe! x

  2. And the best part is the people who work there, they are more friends than staff!

  3. Wow, what an amazing looking hostel!
