I Discover, Not Travel
Travel is too broad a term to describe exactly what I do. People use it to describe a journey with beginning, middle and end. But it doesn’t quite fit right for me.
Suppose we use the word ‘discovery’. Now we have a term that encapsulates so many more aspects: the modes of transport, the experiences and mysteries, the beginning, the middle, the end(s), the lessons, life.
You can even ‘travel’ or yet better still, you can ‘discover’ in your very own backyard – your own country.
This can often be the best experience, because you are in familiar territory, where you know very well your culture, your language and your currency.
To tourists, I say, very well, please continue to use your term ‘travel’. I will continue to ‘discover’.
