Bangkok Nightlife Is For The Reveler

The city is at its best when the sun goes down – not only because the evenings are cooler, but because it is at night that everyone comes out to play – Bangkok nightlife is for the reveler.

Located underneath the Novotel Fenix Silom, it is a restaurant and later in the night a bar.

Walk down the steps and pull aside the heavy black curtain. You’ll enter another world inside. A large sign ‘The East Indian Trading Company’ gives clues as to the interior design of the place, which is decked out with vault like alcoves with leather studded lounges and a very Spartan/industrial appeal.

Get off at Surasak BTS and then take a taxi down Silom Road to the Novotel Fenix Silom.

Iron Fairies

By the same owners of Maggie Choo, this unique bar offers revelers a glimpse into a fantasy world where fairies are the hero of the story. Well, the ‘fairies’ are actually just small jars of glitter that glow mildly, but it gives the bar a unique atmosphere coupled with the dark ambience.

Get off at Thong Lo BTS, take a taxi down Sukhumvit Soi 55 for about five minutes. The bar is opposite Thong Lo Soi 13.

A very cool space to be seen, there are a number of bars that all face into an open-air forum, music and socializing go hand in hand. You could have a drink from one bar, a cocktail from another and never have to change seats!

Get off at Thong Lo BTS and take a taxi down Sukhumvit Soi 55 for about five minutes. You’ll see Iron Fairies on your right, but you’ll turn left into Soi 13.

Banyan Tree, Vertigo and Moon Bar

At the 60th floor of the Banyan Tree hotel, you are given the best views over Bangkok. There is no cover charge, so you can go up for the view or stay for a drink or two, up to you. Drinks are expensive, but totally worth it for the atmosphere up there!

Get off at Sala Daeng BTS, walk for 20 minutes or take a taxi for five minutes down Sathon Road.

Centara Grand, Red Sky Bar

At the 56th floor of the Centara Grand hotel, sweeping vistas of Bangkok central await you. The iconic sail on the rooftop changes colour, and once it hits red you’ll see why they call it Red Sky. A bit tricky to find, but if you like a small adventure then it’s an exciting game of hide and seek.

Get off at Chit Lom BTS, walk through Central World shopping centre. You might have to ask around how to get to Centara Grand, but you’ll have to go up a few floors, then walk through a car park then up to Level 25 (the hotel reception) and then change elevators to hitch a ride to the 55th floor, a staircase that nearly hangs over the building takes you to the roof.
