I listed my entire itinerary on Couchsurfing and it was really easy to find hosts for nearly all of the cities I was going to visit. The website sends out notifications to hosts in the areas I was going to travel – handy !
In Nantes, there was a guy who invited me to stay at his place for a night. In our emails to each other, he always signed off with « Kenavo » and I thought i twas his name. When we met each other in person, I realised that it wasn’t his actual name, I felt soooo embarrassed. Kenavo is a Briton word to say Goodbye.
During the day, I rented a bike to discover the city myself. I visited The Isle of Versailles, The Castle of Duchess Anne, and The Tower of Bretagne where there was a cool bar at the top !
In the evening, we went out to a pub to have a drink. His friend later joined us, one drink became many. I was a bit drunk, but when we got home around 1-3 o’clock in the morning, we made crêpes !
