Les concours des boulangers et des bouchers se sont passés aujourd’hui.
The competition for Bakers and Butchers was today.
Dans la salle de concours des boulangers, il sentait trop bon. Il y avait des parfums de pain, de croissants et toutes les autres gourmandises.
In the competition room of the Bakers, it smelled amazing. The aromas of freshly baked bread, croissants and other baked delights filled the room.
Avec précision, tous les boulangers ont dû préparer la pâte, la cuisiner et la décorer.
With precision, all the bakers had to prepare the dough, bake it and then decorate where necessary.
Une balance très sensible a été utilisé pour peser la pâte au poids correct.
A very sensitive scale was used to ensure that each piece of dough was the exact weight.
Dans la salle de concours des bouchers, il faisait très froid en comparaison à celle que des boulangers. Le parfum de viande était en l’air.
In the Butchers competition room, it was very cold, particularly in comparison to that of the Bakers. The smell of raw meat hung in the air.
Avec une main sûre, les bouchers ont dû préparer les morceaux de viande de la carcasse. Ils utilisaient différents couteaux pour la couper, et vers la fin ils choisissaient un petit couteau aiguisé.
With a sure hand, the butchers had to prepare the pieces of meat starting with the carcass. They used different knives and towards the end they chose a small and very sharp blade.
Pour la présentation finale, il fallait décorer les morceaux de viande. Une sélection de légumes ont eu à leur disposition pour créer les tout petits décorations.
For the final presentation, it was necessary to decorate the prepared cuts of méat. A selection of vegetables were available to them to create the tiny decorations.
Le juge a déclaré qu’il reste que 5 minutes pour terminer. On sentais la tension, les dernières minutes se passaient très lentement. Finalement, tout le monde terminaient et il y avait une sensation de soulagement.
The judge declared that there were only 5 minutes left until it was time to drop the knives. We could sense the tension and the last few minutes felt like an eternity. Finally, everyone finished and there was a big sense of relief.
